Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is not one to let cost worries hinder the quality of his productions. This time he plans to hire private planes to fly his cast to the UK location on June 1, where Housefull 2, will be shot.
Director Sajid Khan attributes the idea to the large cast co mprising of Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Rahul Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan. Nadiadwala confirms the plan, saying, “The idea is to save time and make the shooting experience comfortable.”
Asked about the resultant increase in production costs, Khan reasons: “Since there are so many actors, we did think that hiring private jets would be expensive, but this way, the entire cast can travel together. Besides, there'll be no chance of losing luggage.”
He further added that they have a magnanimous producer in Nadiadwala, who has backed the idea. “He's known for panache and style in his productions, so why not?” counters Khan, adding, “We're still working on the logistics. If the difference is reasonable, we'll go for it. But if it's astronomical, then we'll travel the regular way.”
After schedules in UK and Italy, Khan will also shoot in Thailand and Brazil. He says, “I'm trying to follow the theory of Bond films, and give a different location to the audience every 15 minutes,” he enthuses, but quickly adds that it's not just for the sake of it.
“The screenplay's structure allowed me to explore different settings. This past month, I've only been scouting for locations.”
Apart from one more location, Khan is yet to finalise one more heroine for his film. “We'll finalise the pending cast as soon as we return to Mumbai,” he concluded.
